Viking Rappers: from New York to the North Pole

NOoSPHERE Arts presents Viking Rappers featuring photographer Martin Johansen and writer/director Simen Braathen. They have spent the last two years documenting Norwegian rap artists and the places they come from. From indigenous Sami rappers in the Arctic Highlands, who use hip-hop as an instrument to revitalize their nearly extinct language, to American gangster-rap fanatics down south. Read more >

Susanne Sundfør performs in New York

The Norwegian singer Susanne Sundfør will perform twice in New York at the end of September - once with the Brooklyn-based duo The Mast. Susanne Sundfør continues the expansion of her musical universe with her new album, The Silicone Veil (2012), a follow-up to the critically acclaimed, platinum-selling The Brothel (2010). The album spent 30 weeks in the Norwegian charts and sold more than 40 000 copies. Read more >
