NOoSPHERE Arts - Anniversary Benefit Auction

On Feb 4, NOoSPHERE Arts on the Lower East Side of Manhattan will have been up and running for two full years. The gallery wishes to celebrate its second birthday with a silent auction to raise funds to continue doing what they do. With a special focus on Norway, their scope is international: NOoSPHERE connects artists from elsewhere with the NYC art scene. The event will be opened Zenia Chrysostomidis, Consul at the Royal Norwegian Consulate in New York.Read more >

Enslaved US Tour
	The progressive black metal band Enslaved heads out on an extensive North American tour in January 2013. The will round up this tour in New York February 22. at Bowery Ballroom. Read more >

Sondre Lerche to perform at American Songbook

Sondre Lerche will play a special concert as a part of the American Songbook series of concerts. The performance will feature a string quartet, band and songs from his entire songbook. Lerche is one of the most intriguing young singer-songwriters working today, melding jazzy folk and punchy pop sounds with an engaging melodic instinct, and vivid lyricism. After early success in his native Norway (named Best New Artist at the Norwegian Grammys), Lerche moved to New York in 2005 and quickly built on his reputation for beautifully crafted songs delivered in an outgoing, immediate style.Read more >

Norwegian acts at SXSW 2013

Bernhoft, Marit Larsen and Karpe Diem are just some of the Norwegian acts scheduled to perform at the world’s largest industry festival in Austin, TX, March 8-12, 2013. Norwegian bands have for several years made a strong showing at the South By Southwest Festival (SXSW) in Austin, Texas. 	The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) presents MUNCH \| WARHOL and the Multiple Image, an exhibition featuring two of the 20th century’s most prolific and inventive printmakers. Museum of Modern Art presents Munch's The Scream

Edvard Munch’s iconic The Scream (1895), among the most celebrated and recognized images in art history, will be on view at The Museum of Modern Art for a period of six months. Of the four versions of The Scream made by Munch between 1893 and 1910, this pastel-on-board from 1895 is the only one remaining in private hands; the three other versions are in the collections of museums in Norway. The Scream is being lent by a private collector.Read more >

The 16th Annual Ibsen Festival, Commonweal Theatre in Lanesboro Minnesota
	The 16th Annual Ibsen Festival is featuring a world premiere adaptation by Jeffrey Hatcher of Ibsen’s groundbreaking masterpiece A Doll's House.
